One Fish Company has achieved the treble; local authority Approval for a fish site, UK retailer approval and BRC certified.
One Fish Company were looking for new premises to pack their range of fish products for a major UK supermarket. After a long search they found a great site in Sutton Bridge, Lincolnshire.
One Fish Company always wanted to not just open a fish factory, but to have a world-class facility. Working with Food Fix they set about achieving three goals in four months: local authority Approval, retailer approval to supply and BRC accreditation.
Having satisfied the local authority that the site improvements undertaken immediately after acquiring the site had been undertaken to a high standard the local authority issued a Conditional Approval – this allowed One Fish Company to start trading. Once this had happened the site was quickly audited by a major UK retailer and having passed their audit the site was given permission to supply.
One Fish Company BRC Certified
After One Fish Company had the “thumbs up” from their customer it was full steam ahead to develop a library of records, procedures and policies, and just over three months later the site had a successful BRC audit against the Storage and Distribution Standard.
Ian Trevor, Food Fix Ltd, commented that he was delighted to have been involved in this project from the very beginning, “it is unusual to get involved in a food safety project before a site has been chosen, but this has added to the sense of achievement those working for One Fish Company and Food Fix have felt. Food Fix has the experience and resources to be able to react quickly to these types of projects and we wish One Fish Company well for future growth and prosperity.
