2016 has been a hectic year for Food Fix. Clients have successfully achieved BRC accreditation in the Food, Agents and Brokers and Storage and Distribution Standards, we still conduct lots of food safety inspections and I have been training again!
The introduction of the BRC Storage and Distribution issue 3 was the ideal opportunity for me to spend another couple of days on a BRC course, sit the dreaded test and then wait for the result.
Luckily things have changed a little with the format of the post-course tests; they are still PC based, but having to wait several days for the result seems to be a thing of the past (at least for the S&D course). As soon as the 50 questions have been completed, and after hovering over the “submit” button for a moment, a few seconds later the test outcome is available as well as a copy of the certificate (if you passed!)
I passed – 92%.
Looking back on 2016
I am now a BRC Registered Consultant for the Food, Agents and Brokers and Storage and Distribution standards. I’m actually the first approved BRC Registered Consultant to be listed on the BRC database for the new Storage and Distribution standard (14/12/16) .
2016 has been great and 2017 looks like being even better. Many Food Fix clients from previous years are still with us; and several clients are progressing towards their first audits during the early months of 2017. New clients have dates in the diary for GAP assessments and we also welcome some old friends back into the fold.
The team, as ever, have been amazing and I thank them all, a special mention goes to Helen who has been battling against the odds to introduce a new accounts package.
If your New Year’s resolution for 2017 is to gain BRC certification or you need some other food safety help please do not hesitate to get in touch.
